In form Manchester City Women host their Leicester City counterparts on Sunday with an eye to keeping up the pressure on Women's Super League leaders Chelsea Women. The Citizens are second in the table, chasing Chelsea and have the best defensive record in the division, conceding just eight goals in their 12 games, three better than the next best team. Gareth Taylor will be proud of his team's defensive record and recently they have been adding plenty of goals to the mix too, winning all their last five WSL games with a 7-0 hammering of Tottenham, a 4-1 despatching of Everton and most recently a 5-1 defeat of Liverpool amongst those games. You can bet that City won't underestimate Leicester after the two teams drew in the FA WSL Cup Group Stage in November, with the Foxes winning on penalties. City were 2-0 winners last weekend at Tottenham to maintain their second spot in the table.

This season has been a real mix of results for Leicester City Women. They lie 7th in the table with 13 points, but have won just one of their last five WSL games, a 1-0 win last weekend away to Everton Women. What is notable is that the Foxes have struggled against the top teams. They were beaten 6-0 and 5-2 in their two games with Chelsea, lost 0-1 at home to Manchester City earlier this season, lost 2-6 at home to Arsenal ladies. Willie Kirk's team have improved a little on last season, where they finished 10th in the WSL but their home record of just one win in six games has to improve significantly if they are to close the gap on the top sides. One positive point is that the Foxes have picked up more points away from home than at home this season (8 away from home compared to 5 at home), which does suggest they perform better on the road.
