Manchester City take on Leicester at the Etihad in Premier League action this weekend. Both clubs go into the fixture with perfect records. City have only played one game due to the extra-long break they received in acknowledgement of their participation in European competition. It was nonetheless an impressive opener, winning 3-1 at Wolves, a club that did the double over City last season. Leicester, looking to better their fifth-placed finish last term, have won two from two. They kicked off the season with a 3-0 victory at West Brom before beating Burnley 4-2 at the King Power Stadium. The standard of opposition jumps up this week. City have had the better of Leicester recently, winning the last three meetings. Two of those victories were by a margin of one goal, highlighting how close these games have been. At the Etihad, City have won the last four matches they have played against Leicester. The last time the Foxes won at City was during their wonderous title-winning campaign, a certain Riyad Mahrez among the goals for the visitors.

Leicester have been unable to string results together away from home for some time. Before winning at the Hawthorns, they had failed to win their previous eight away games in the league. It was this loss of form on the road that resulted in Leicester missing out on Champions League football. Victory at the Etihad would prove that they have turned a corner. Easier said than done though - City have won ten of their last 11 home matches in the league. Six of the last seven victories have been with a clean sheet.
