Second placed Manchester City can close to within two points of leaders Liverpool if getting a home win over Burnley who are 19th. Leaders Liverpool also play on Wednesday but their home game against Chelsea starts 45 minutes later than this one. City are five points behind the league leaders but will start in third if Arsenal can avoid defeat at Nottingham Forest on Tuesday evening. The Citizens won their most recent game with a late goal earning them a 1-0 win at Tottenham in the FA Cup fourth round. In the Premier League, City have won four of their last five, the other a 2-2 home draw with Crystal Palace. In all competitions, the Blues have won their last seven games and nine of the last ten. Erling Haaland is still on the sidelines but he's expected back soon. City are yet to lose a Premier League home game this season with six wins and three draws.

Burnley are in deep relegation trouble and are five points from safety, virtually six because of their -21 goal difference. The gap to safety will widen if Everton can get something from Tuesday's game at Fulham. Burnley have a terrible record against Manchester City with their last 12 games being lost. The aggregate score in that dozen defeats is a staggering 43-1 to City with it being 28-0 in the last eight. Their most recent meeting was in the opening game of the new league season with City beating the Clarets 3-0 at Turf Moor. Burnley have only one point from their last three league matches and on the road have lost six out of ten. We go for Manchester City to win and be ahead at both half and full time.
