Manchester City vs Brighton Prediction & Betting Tips - FA Cup
by Daniel Ngulu | in FA Cup Predictions
Manchester City have picked straight wins in their last seven matches and are unbeaten in 13. The only blemish in their 13 – match unbeaten run is the draw with Chelsea in the League Cup final, which they went on to win on post match penalties. They have six clean sheets in the last eight matches and in the last five matches they have scored 16 goals and conceded four. Brighton is the second Premier League side that City meets in this season’s FA Cup competition; they beat Burnley 5 – 0 in the first. City recovered from a losing position against Swansea in the last game and after the scare, they will want to finish off Brighton early enough. Brighton know that having come so close, this is their chance to try and force their way to the final, which will need a massive push from them. They are not doing so well in the league and after losing each of the last two matches, they will be hoping to put an end to the bad run. Brighton have four wins in 14 matches and just managed to advance to the semis of the FA Cup via a win on post match penalties over Millwall, having drawn 2 – 2 in regular time. On their way, they had to play two legs with West Bromwich Albion, while this is the second top flight side they meet in the competition after seeing off Bournemouth in the third round. They have had to go to extra time once and to penalties once also in this season’s FA Cup competition and four of their five FA Cup matches this season have seen over 2.5 goals scored, with Brighton managing just one clean sheet. Manchester City’s only loss to Brighton in recent times was the fall on post match penalties in the League Cup in 2008 after a 2 – 2 draw. They have otherwise not lost to Brighton in open play in the last seven matches. In 12 meetings, City have won seven and Brighton three.

Our Manchester City vs Brighton Prediction
Manchester City have a good run over Brighton, and in their recent matches as well. While this is Brighton’s only hope for silverware this season, we believe they will be distracted by their league run, which is not going so well. A bet on City to lead in both halves can do here.
