Manchester City secured second place with their weekend win and will be hosting relegation threatened AFC Bournemouth on Match Day 36. Going to the clash, City have 72 points and 18th placed Bournemouth have 31. Manchester City thrashed Brighton 5-0 in their last match, making it the second straight match they have scored five. In their eight matches after lockdown, City have lost two and won the rest emphatically, scoring 25 goals and conceding just three. They have six clean sheets in the eight matches, and playing at home, they have five straight wins and clean sheets too. The last home loss for City came in the League Cup, against Manchester United but they are unbeaten in nine league matches at home, only drawing once in the run – with Crystal Palace. In their 17 home matches this season in the league, City have failed to collect maximum points in just four – two draws with Tottenham and Crystal Palace then in losses to Manchester United and Wolverhampton Wanderers. They only failed to score against Wolves at home, as they lost 2-0.

Bournemouth on the other hand, are three points below safety and after coming from down to beat Leicester City 4-1 on Sunday, they will feel a great escape can be engineered. For them, all the remaining three matches are must-wins and to get three points here, they will have to be at their best. Bournemouth have lost each of their last seven matches against City but having avoided defeat in their last two matches, they will hope to carry on with it at a very tough venue for visitors. They lost their first four matches after lockdown before holding Tottenham to a 0-0 draw then beating Leicester, to create the needed momentum at this stage of their campaign. However, with just one clean sheet in their last 15 matches, they have an uphill task here and a run of eight straight away losses also doesn’t help their ambitions for this game. Also, they have failed to score in five of the eight away matches and with just three wins in 17 away league matches, they are the clear underdogs here.
