Manchester City Women host Arsenal Women in a game which, if City win, would take them to the brink of the WSL League title. The home team will have to play the game without their star striker Khadija Shaw, who has been ruled out for the rest of the season through injury. Gareth Taylor's team are on an incredible run of 14 unbeaten WSL games, all of which have been won. They have also been amongst the goals of late too, rattling in an outstanding 20 goals in their last five WSL matches, conceding just three. Chelsea's defeat to Liverpool in midweek means the current Champions can only achieve a maximum of 55 points from their remaining 3 games. City can move to that mark with a win here, and their goal difference is currently +46 compared to +38 for Chelsea. They ensured relegation for Bristol City women in their last game, winning 4-0 at Ashton Gate.

However, City have lost two WSL games this season and one of those was away to today's opponents Arsenal Women. The Gunners lie third in the WSL table and could pip Chelsea to second, although that is unlikely given their London rivals are two points ahead and have a game in hand. Jonas Eidevall's team have claimed the FA WSL Cup this season, but were beaten 1-0 by Man City when the team's last met in the FA Women's Cup Fifth Round in February. The visitors were held in their previous fixture last weekend, only managing a 1-1 draw away to Everton. Prior to that, they had rattled in eight goals in two home victories over Bristol City (5-0) and Leicester City (3-0).
