Manchester City and AC Milan will meet in a pre-season friendly at the Yankee Stadium in New York City on Saturday night. The Citizens have only just got their preseason underway, playing one match this month so far, while the Rossoneri have played twice. Check out our full prediction of this preseason matchup below. 

Manchester City are preparing to enter the 2024-25 Premier League season where they will be gunning for a record-extending fifth consecutive league title. Last term, they were involved in a heated title race and edged Arsenal to the crown by two points. 

The Citizens ended the league campaign with an excellent nine consecutive victories and unbeaten in a whopping 23 games. The last time they tasted defeat in the top flight was at the start of December last year. 

Pep Guardiola’s side lost 4-3 to Celtic in their first preseason fixture in midweek with Oscar Bobb, Maximo Perrone and last season’s Golden Boot winner Erling Haaland getting on the scoresheet. 

However, the Spaniard will remain without the services of several players here, including Phil Foden, Kyle Walker and Rodri, all of whom are entitled to a three-week break after their Euro 2024 final appearances. 

Meanwhile, despite finishing second in Serie A last season, AC Milan will likely have been a little disappointed, having been well in the title race for the majority of the campaign. 

Unfortunately, they petered off in the closing stages, managing just one victory in their final seven league games, while drawing four and losing two of the remaining six during that period. 

Since then, the Rossoneri have played two preseason matches, losing the first 5-2 to Roma and drawing 1-1 against Rapid Vienna last weekend. They have not kept a clean sheet since a goalless draw against Juventus at the end of April.
