Mamelodi Sundowns and Moroka Swallows will face off at Loftus Versfeld in the PSL on Wednesday evening. The hosts lead the league standings, while the visitors are in ninth place. Sundowns have been excellent again this season. They are the only side in the South African top flight that is still unbeaten this term and are five points ahead of their closest rivals, Supersport United, in second place. In addition, the Brazilians have only played 12 matches so far this season, three fewer than the sides around them. Sundowns won 11 in a row since the start of the campaign but saw their winning streak brought to an end last week when they were held to a 0-0 draw by Cape Town City. Meanwhile, Moroka Swallows are in a bit of a rut at the moment and in desperate need of a win to lift the spirits around the camp. They have managed just 19 points from their first 14 games this season, though they do have a game in hand. Swallows played out a 0-0 draw away to Royal AM in their last outing, marking their fifth consecutive match without a win. During that time, they lost three and drew two while failing to score in all but one of those games. Swallows are among the lowest-scoring sides in the league this term, with 12 in 14 games, though they have balanced that with one of the best defenses in the top flight. The Dube Birds have only let in 11 goals this season, which is the joint second-best tally in the league. The visitors are winless in their last three on the road and failed to score in each of those games. All indicators suggest they will struggle to get anything from this match.
