The highs from Match Day 1 are long forgotten as Mallorca head into the third La Liga match searching for a first win. This Tuesday, they will host Sevilla who are also seeking a first win of the season. Here’s our prediction as Los Bermellones and Los Nervionenses clash.

Mallorca made the headlines on the opening weekend by holding champions Real Madrid to a 1-1 draw. However, they couldn’t live up to the standards, falling 1-0 to Osasuna on Saturday.

Week 3 presents another tricky game, facing a side they’ve beaten just once in eight meetings. The last time Mallorca hosted this match, in December, they won 1-0 and will hope to replicate that. They’ll need all the motivation they can get to improve on only two wins in 11 league games.

Sevilla, like Mallorca, have claimed one point so far. On Friday, at home to Villareal, they conceded in stoppage time and lost 2-1. After opening the season with a 2-2 draw at Las Palmas, Sevilla have now failed to win in six straight league outings.

They’ve actually lost five of the six matches, and have two clean sheets only in 10 league games. Last season Sevilla managed only four away league wins and here, they’ll be eyeing the first this season.

A strong run against Mallorca should be a source of their morale. Sevilla have beaten their hosts three times in the last four meetings. In their last 10 league visits to Mallorca, they managed four wins and lost twice. Both teams scored in five of those 10 visits.
