Mallorca vs Leganés Prediction & Betting Tips - LaLiga 2

Mallorca's bid to make an immediate return to La Liga has run into trouble. They have slipped to second and host Leganes (also relegated from La Liga last season) who are in fourth. Mallorca are only behind leaders Espanyol (also trying to get back into La Liga at the first time of asking) on goal difference. They used to be top though and the past three league games have seen them earn six points less than the new table toppers. Mallorca lost 2-0 away at fifth placed Sporting Gijon and were then held to a goalless home draw by Real Oviedo, currently 14th. Worse was to come on Monday when losing 4-1 at Fuenlabrada, conceding three times in the first 41 minutes.  That team travels to Espanyol before this match is played, so Espanyol could go three points clear. Mallorca are still in the automatic promotion places and four points clear of third placed Almeria. Opponents Leganes are in fourth with a seven point gap to make up, so they need something from this match. Home form for Mallorca has seen them win nine, draw three and lose four. They are unbeaten in their last three since a vital home loss to Espanyol. Four of their last six home league games have had under 2.5 goals scored in them.

Leganes are also struggling for form but are in the promotion play-off positions. They are seven points from the automatic promotion spot but the same above seventh with the teams third to sixth going into the play-offs. Leganes would not be in this position but for their excellent home form. They have won 12 out of 16 at home this season, the best record in La Liga II. However, it's a different story on the road. They have the 13th best record with only four away wins and six losses. Only 14 away goals have been scored but just 15 conceded. 10 of their 15 away league games have had under 2.5 goals scored in them, including three of the last four. That includes their last game when drawing 1-1 at third placed Almeria. They went behind in the 92nd minute but grabbed a point via a 100th minute penalty. A bet on under 2.5 goals is the tip here given the shaky form of the home side.
