Mallorca will be at home to welcome Real Betis as the Spanish La Liga returns for round 22. They arrive for the match sitting 15th in the standings, 11 points behind ninth-placed Betis. Mallorca haven’t lost in five outings and are coming off an exciting Copa del Rey victory. Javier Aguirre’s men were 3-2 winners over in-form Girona to secure passage into the semifinals. The three wins in their current unbeaten run have come in the Cup. They will now seek to replicate this in the league. Mallorca have won just three times in the league and have drawn a further 11 times. With 20 points, they sit five points clear of the relegation zone. Los Piratas haven’t won in nine meetings with Betis and have lost the last four encounters.

Real Betis were eliminated earlier in the Copa del Rey and weren’t involved during the week. They will be hoping Mallorca’s midweek assignment will have taken a toll on them as they seek a win here. Betis have struggled to win matches and haven’t won back-to-back games since winning five in a row between October and November. Two of those wins have come in the league where they have since dropped out of the European places. Betis have accumulated 31 points thanks to seven wins and 10 draws and sit four points from the top six. Maule Pellegrini’s men were defeated 4-2 last time out by Barcelona. It was their third defeat in four outings.
