Mali are going for their first African Nations Championships (CHAN) title against Morocco, who are looking to win a second straight title. These two nations have had different performances at the tournament but have definitely been the most outstanding, the reason they face off in the final. Mali have scored only three goals so far at the tournament, and haven’t scored in the knockouts. They defeated Congo and Guinea on post match penalties after 0-0 draws, making it three draws so far at the tournament. In 2016, Mali got to the final, only to lose to Congo DR and they will be hoping to go a step further in this event. They have been good defensively, keeping four clean sheets in five at the competition, which has seen all their five matches end in under 2.5 goals. The West Africans haven’t scored more than a goal per game at this competition, but are unbeaten in nine CHAN matches.

Morocco have been the most outstanding at this event, winning four of their five matches, and scoring 13 goals, while failing to score in just one, and conceding three goals. With three clean sheets in the five matches, the North Africans have also been among the best in defence. Each of their last three matches has produced over 2.5 goals, the most recent coming in the 4-0 win over Cameroon in the semis. At this tournament, Morocco have trailed just once, in the game against Uganda, that didn’t last long though. The North Africans won it 5-2. Morocco are unbeaten in 16 CHAN matches.
