Malawi vs Côte d'Ivoire Prediction & Betting Tips - World Cup
by Daniel Ngulu | in World Cup Predictions
Malawi have an uphill task as they get to host African giants Ivory Coast in Group D in the third round of 2022 World Cup qualifiers. After their 1-0 win over Mozambique, Malawi are third in the group with three points and hope to replicate the same against a tougher Ivory Coast, who are top on four points. Malawi have conceded two goals in three of their last five matches and failed to score in two. They will however be confident, having registered three wins in their last five matches in World Cup qualifiers, and keeping four clean sheets in the five. However, their last seven matches in World Cup qualification have all produced under 2.5 goals. They have also failed to score in five of the last nine World Cup qualification games, but they are unbeaten in the last eight qualifying matches at home.
Ivory Coast go to this game on an eight-game unbeaten run, with five wins in the eight and having scored two or more goals in five. Away from home, they have no loss in the last four matches, but five of the six on the road have produced under 2.5 goals. Three of their last five World Cup qualification matches have also produced under 2.5 goals and the same has been the case away from home in four of the last five. Ivory Coast return to the region for the season time after earlier drawing 0-0 with Malawi. They improved in their last game, beating the immediate former AFCON champions Cameroon, 2-1. The win over Cameroon is Ivory Coast’s only win in the last five World Cup qualification matches, but they have five wins in 10. Their away run is punctuated with goalless draws, and they’ll hope the same doesn’t occur here.

Our Malawi vs Côte d'Ivoire Prediction
Malawi are goal shy; they’ve failed to score in five of their last nine World Cup qualification matches but are unbeaten in eight at home. Ivory Coast haven’t also been scoring a lot in their away matches in this competition. We don’t expect a lot of goals here, so back it to produce under 2.5 goals.
