Malawi will host Guinea on Saturday in the final round of the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign. The two nations have been competing in Group D where Guinea are second and Malawi third. Malawi have managed four points from their five matches in this group. This has left the Flames unable to catch any of the teams in the top two and will therefore be playing for pride. Guinea have won five of the eight encounters with Malawi including the last three meetings. This strong showing should have them confident of putting to a halt their current woes. Kaba Diawara’s men have lost their last two games with the latest being a 4-1 defeat by Brazil in a friendly. The Syli National beat Ethiopia both home and away in March but before that had lost four in a row. Their inconsistencies will have Malawi fancy their chances of winning.
