Malawi vs Burkina Faso Prediction & Betting Tips - AFCON

The final match in Group L at the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers will see Malawi taking on Burkina Faso at the Bingu National Stadium on Sunday afternoon. The Flames are bottom of the group standings, while the Stallions are in second place. Check out our match prediction below. 

Malawi will be taking their final bow in their AFCON competition in this match, as with only one point to their name, they cannot qualify for the main draw regardless of the outcome here. 

The Flames’ only point in the competition came on Thursday when they played out a 0-0 draw against Burundi, who are also eliminated from the competition. 

That draw ended the hosts’ five-match losing streak, though they have still only won one match in their last 10 in all competitions (W1 D1 L8). 

Meanwhile, Burkina Faso have earned 10 points in their five games, and despite losing to Senegal last time out, they will finish in second place in this group no matter what happens in the final round of matches.

Prior to the defeat to Senegal, the Stallions rattled off three wins on the bounce which is a notable improvement after failing to win any of their preceding eight. 

The visitors have won one and drawn one of their two away games in this competition, and have only failed to score in one of their last 10 matches on the road.
