Malaga have only won three of their 17 games in La Liga this season and only have Las Palmas below them. The home side are four points from safety and have lost their last two league games. They have won two home games this season, both with late goals but form has dipped in recent weeks with a home draw with Levante followed by a 2-0 defeat by Betis. That's two home league games without a goal and Malaga have only managed nine goals in their eight home league games this season. Espanyol are 15th in the table but only five points above the bottom three. However, La Liga is a tight league in mid-table and Espanyol are only three points behind 8th place so a good run of results would really change their season. The away side are yet to win an away league game this season with four draws and four defeats so far. Only Las Palmas and Malaga have a worse away record than Espanyol which is a bit disappointing considering they ended last season with a four game unbeaten run. Fixtures haven't been easy for them with defeats at Barcelona and Real Madrid but they have managed to earn draws at Sevilla, Real Sociedad and Valencia who are all in the top nine. In their last away league game, they led 2-0 at bottom of the table Las Palmas before conceding two goals in the last six minutes. A bet on Espanyol winning or drawing this game is the suggested tip.
