Ukraine will aim for their first win of the Euro 2024 qualifiers when they travel to North Macedonia on Friday. The hosts go into this game third in Group C with three points while Ukraine are fourth without a point. For both nations, this will be the second match in the group. North Macedonia got their campaign off with a 2-1 win over Malta. They followed up with a 1-0 win over Faroe Islands in a friendly match in March. The win over Faroe Islands was Macedonia’s first clean sheet in seven matches. They’ve scored in each of their last four matches. Macedonia take to this game straight wins in four home matches in Euro qualification. The hosts will miss Darko Churlinov and Bojan Miovski in this game. Napoli’s Eljif Elmas will however headline the squad.

Ukraine will aim to rise from their 2-0 loss to England in the opening game in this group. They are coming from an action packed 3-3 draw with Germany in a friendly and will seek inspiration from that. While they are yet to win in three, Ukraine will be happy to be back on the score sheet. They didn’t score in the earlier two matches, but having conceded five in two games, defence is an area of focus. In the last six matches, Ukraine have managed just one win – 5-0 over Armenia. That is also one of their two clean sheets in the six matches. Ukraine will have no new injury concerns after their draw with Germany. Arsenal defender Oleksandr Zinchenko remains absent with injury but Chelsea’s Mykyahlo Mudryk is expected to lead the team just fine.
