Round 18 of the A-League continues this Sunday when Macarthur FC take on Western United FC at the Campbelltown Sports Stadium. The Bulls currently occupy sixth position with 24 points, while Western sits in fourth with 25 points. Let’s get into the match prediction. 

Macarthur FC produced a spirited performance when facing league leaders Auckland FC last Saturday, however, fell short on the night with a 2-1 loss. 

The Bulls have suffered a slump in form with half of their defeats this season coming in their last five matches (W2, L3). However, they have found themselves on the scoresheet in each match.

At home, Macarthur has struggled to string together consistent positive performances with just one win from their last seven matches (W1, D2, L4) while conceding 12 goals. 

Meanwhile, Western United trailed at the half against the Central Coast Mariners last week,  however, they would salvage a point late in the second 45 to end on a 2-2 scoreline. 

With that result, Western has now lost just once in their last five matches (W3, D1, L1), netting on 12 occasions and failing to keep a clean sheet in each of those matches. 

On the road, they have experienced immense success, winning four of their last five with three or more goals to their name, yet failed to score in their one defeat during this period.
