Macarthur FC vs Melbourne City Prediction & Betting Tips - A-League
by Steve Ashfield | in Football Predictions
Melbourne City top the A-League and can get an away win at tenth placed Macarthur FC. The league leaders are currently three points clear of second placed Adelaide United but have two games in hand on them. City needed a late goal to get a home win over Brisbane Roar in their most recent league game. They needed that win after being beaten at Adelaide in their previous fixture. They have won four of their last six league games and Macarthur will remember the first of those matches. They traveled to Melbourne in early February and were beaten 6-1. That was the third successive win Melbourne have had over them. Melbourne's away form has seen them win five of their ten league games but the last two have both been lost. Only one of the last five has been won but this looks an ideal opportunity to get three points.
Macarthur FC are only three points adrift of the final play-off position. That's despite them only having two teams below them in the A-League. Their current form is not that of a play-off chasing side. They come into this game having lost three of their last four fixtures. Their most recent defeat was a 4-1 loss at Central Coast Mariners, even more disappointing as they took an early lead. That's ten goals conceded in their last three games in the A-League. Their only win was a 3-2 home victory over Brisbane Roar needing a late goal after their opponents came back from 2-0 down to level the match. Home form for Macarthur has produced five wins but four losses. Back the A-League leaders to inflict a fifth home league loss of the season.
