With two games to go Lyon are in second place ahead of Monaco on goal difference. The difference between the two places is a place in the group stages of the Champions League and having to qualify. They both need good ends to the season though as St Etienne in fourth are four points behind and Nice five points adrift. With one team or perhaps both going to drop points here St Etienne and Nice could yet get into the Champions League. Lyon know a win here will all but guarantee them second place. They are in good form with an unbeaten run of nine games and six wins in the last seven at home including a win over Champions PSG. Monaco aren't in such great form with only two wins in the last five league games and just one win in their last five away games. That's disappointing for a side that has the second best away record in the league. The form seems to go for Lyon to get the vital win here and give Monaco a few worries regarding their Champions League qualification hopes.
