Olympique Lyonnais stayed in the Ligue 1 title chase after beating Monaco in their last game and will be hoping to stay in it when they host Lorient in the 36th round. Fourth placed Lyon have 70 points, six below league leaders Lille and face 17th placed Lorient who have 38 points. For Lyon to stay in the title race, this is a must win game; they have three wins in the last four matches and should be motivated by the win over Monaco. Their only losses (2) in the last 10 league matches, have come against the top two sides – Lille and PSG. Their last four matches have produced over 2.5 goals and they have two clean sheets in the last 11 league games. It hasn’t been great at home in the league for Lyon; they have three losses in the last five, but having won 10 of the 17 this season, they’ll be fired up for this.

Lorient on the other hand, aren’t safe from relegation yet. They are just four points above the relegation playoff spot and need six points from the remaining three matches to secure survival. They have been prolific in attack lately, scoring two or more goals in the last three matches and three of their four matches have been high scoring, producing over 2.5 goals. Lorient are coming from a 2-0 win over Angers but will have Julien Laporte suspended for this game after his sending off in the last game. Their away form has been really poor; this season they have one win in 17 played so far and going to this game, they have no win in the last 13, and have lost seven in the process. In the 17 away league matches this season, they have 10 losses.
