Lyon vs Lens Prediction & Betting Tips - Ligue 1

Lyon went to the top of Ligue 1 in their last game of 2020. They begin the new year with a home match against Lens who are seventh in the table, nine points behind their opponents. Lyon have only one league defeat this season, an away loss at Montpellier in September. Since then, they have been unbeaten in 14 league games and come into this game with seven wins out of the last eight. The most recent was a 3-0 home win over Nantes that saw them overtake leaders Lille on goal difference. Lyon are unbeaten at home in Ligue 1 this season with five wins and three draws with just six goals conceded and 18 scored. Four of their last five home league games have been won with 14 goals hitting the back of the net. 

Lens are in seventh and four points off fourth place with a game in hand. Eight of their 16 league games have been won but five lost. Three of those have come on the road, though they do have four away league victories. They have scored 11 goals on their league travels but conceded the same amount. Their away form has improved of late though with three wins in the last five. The sides beaten include fourth placed Rennes and Monaco who are in sixth. Both of those sides were struggling for form at the time they lost to Lens. Lyon are in much better form and unbeaten in 12 hom league games. They can get another win here.
