After stuttering in the past few matches, Olympique Lyonnais have the chance to leap to the top of the French Ligue 1, when they host Bordeaux in the first of Round 22 matches. The hosts are placed third in the standings, with 43 points, while Bordeaux have 32 points and are seventh. Lyon are just two points behind the leading duo of PSG and Lille, and should have been top by now, was it not for the five dropped points in the last three matches. They still have the chance, and with a fine scoring run, they should be able to rise to the summit. Lyon have scored two or more in four of the last five matches, with the four yielding over 2.5 goals. They are coming from a 5-0 win over Saint-Etienne but in their last home game, against Metz, they suffered their first home loss of the season. At home, Lyon have six wins in 10 this season, and have failed to score in two. They have scored two or more goals in seven of their last 10 matches at home, though only three of the 10 have delivered clean sheets.

Bordeaux, on the other hand, have been on a rise lately, and have a four-game unbeaten run, with three straight wins. Their matches, just like Lyon’s, have been high scoring, four of the last five producing over 2.5 goals. They have scored two or more in their last three games and Korean forward Ui-jo Hwang has been key in attack. He has scored four times in the last five matches. With two wins, and three straight clean sheets away from home, Bordeaux will be hoping to upset Lyon. However, they have not been entirely good away from home, with four wins and four losses in the 10 matches played this season. On the attacking front though, they have done well, scoring in eight of the 10 away games.
