Luton Town vs Reading Prediction & Betting Tips - Championship
by Ioannis | in Championship Predictions
It is lights on at the Kenilworth Road, as Luton play host to Reading for this midweek pack of Championship fixtures. Luton shared the spoils in their weekend game against Sunderland, ensuring that the London side remain in the top half of the table. In fact, the hosts are a mere three points away from the play-off places, while they have only lost once in their last nine league fixtures. On the downside, Luton have failed to turn it up at the Kenilworth Road this season, with their tally of ten points from eight home games being one of the worst of the division. This however, could be a chance for Luton to add a few more points to their record, especially taking into account the fact that they have only lost one of their last eight home meetings against Reading, keeping clean sheets in their last three.
Reading were subjected to a cruel stoppage-time defeat last time out, with the Royals seeing their season fizzle out once again after a bright start to the campaign. That is because they have lost four of their last five league games, currently sitting in tenth place at the standings. They have also struggled on the defensive side, with their twenty-three goals conceded being the joint-worst tally among the first thirteen games of the standings. With regards to their away performances, Reading have conceded defeats in five of their last seven outings, failing to score three of those. Luton have been a resolute team and Reading should find it hard to break them down, especially given that they have only tasted victory once in their last eight visits to the Kenilworth Road.
