Luton Town - Manchester United: Form Analysis
Last weekend's defeat for Luton was a real blow for the Hatters. With Everton losing, a win would have put them four clear of the Toffes and saw them leapfrog Nottingham Forest into the table. However that 3-1 defeat saw a three-game unbeaten run in the league come to a screeching halt. The Hatters have won just one of their last five games and their home record is the third worst in the division, with just 11 points collected at home. The Hatters have lost three of their last five home games in the league and that will be a worry for manager Rob Edwards as he seeks to keep his team in the top flight. On the more side, their 18 goals scored at home matches the totals of Man Utd and West Ham.
After struggling on the road for a large percentage of the season, Manchester United have won their last two away games in the Premier League and in dramatic fashion too. Kobie Mainoo's 97th minute strike giving the Red Devils a 4-3 win at Wolves, before Scott McTominay's late header won the game last week at Aston Villa. Both those wins, against teams who have traditionally been hard to beat at home will have given United real confidence heading into this game. That win moved United five points behind Villa and six behind fourth placed Spurs in the table.

Luton Town & Manchester United Squad Analysis
Luton will be without long term casualties Tom Lockyer, who has had an ICD fitted and is now undergoing rehab from home and Marvelous Nakamba, who has picked up a nasty knee injury and who will be out for months, likely until the end of the season according to Hatters manager Rob Edwards. Daiki Hashioka is close to a return, as is Mads Andersen but the game with Manchester United may come a little too soon for both players. The visitors will have to watch Luton's Ross Barkley in midfield, with the former Everton and Chelsea man finding his best form for Luton and striker Elijah Adebayo has been amongst the goals of late, scoring a hat-trick against Brighton in their 4-0 win .
Manchester United boss Erik Ten Hag is hopeful that left back Luke Shaw will be fit for the game on Sunday after he was taken off as a precaution in their win at Aston Villa last weekend. However a number of other United stars will be absent including long-term absentees Lisandro Martinez (Knee) and Anthony Martial (Groin). The game is also too soon for Mason Mount, Aaron Wan Bissaka and Tyrell Malacia who have all had attempted return dates of mid-March put on their recovery from a variety of injuries. Rasmus Hojlund has now scored in all his last five Premier League games for United, while Scott McTominay's fine goalscoring form means he is in line to earn a starting role in the game at the weekend.

It will be the first time that Mr Coote has officiated a Manchester United game this season, but he has refereed a Luton game previously, however the Hatters won't remember it fondly as they were beaten 4-1 by Brighton in that game.
