Luton Town vs Liverpool Prediction & Betting Tips - Premier League
by Joseph King | in Premier League Predictions
18th-place Luton Town play host to fourth-place Liverpool when the two teams clash to contest matchday 11 of the English Premier League on Sunday. The hosts will be looking to put an end to a four game winless run as they now find themselves one point shy of being out of the relegation zone. Liverpool, meanwhile, can register their fifth consecutive win across all competitions and their third straight in the English top flight. Do the Hatters have something up their sleeves for the Reds or will the underdogs slump further down the table?

Luton Town - Liverpool: Form Analysis
Luton likely would have been confident heading to Villa Park after snatching a point away against Forest with two goals in the final 10 minutes to draw 2-2. However, the Premier League debutants were quickly brought back down to Earth in a one-sided 3-1 defeat to Aston Villa last weekend. A consolation Emi Martinez own-goal late in the game made the scoreline look closer than the match actually was. Luton were powerless to resist a Villa side which created 2.28 expected goals to the Hatters’ 0.48 and fashioned five clear-cut scoring chances. They’ve now lost three of their last four overall and won’t have things much easier as they welcome Liverpool to Kenilworth Road. Luton are still seeking their first home Premier League win in what will be the fifth attempt.
A 2-1 away win over Bournemouth on Wednesday in the EFL Cup means that Liverpool are still competing in four competitions. The Reds are cruising through their Europa League group as well as they sit top with three wins from three following their latest 5-1 win over Toulouse. Things are also looking up in the Premier League where Jurgen Klopp’s side have just recorded their second consecutive win with a 3-0 home victory over Nottingham Forest last weekend. Liverpool have been dominant at Anfield and are a perfect eight wins from eight across all competitions in front of the home support. They’ve hit a few snags on the road, however, with their 2-2 away draw to Brighton the latest hiccup. Overall, Liverpool have won two, drawn two and lost once in their five away league fixtures.

Luton Town & Liverpool Squad Analysis
Luton boss Rob Edwards isn’t expected to make too many changes from the starting 11 that featured against Aston Villa. He’s still dealing with a few injury concerns to his squad including: Mads Anderson, Albert Sambi Lokonga, Dan Pott and Reece Burke – all who will miss out for the welcome of Liverpool. There are also still questions over the availability of Jordan Clark and Amari’i Bell.
Jurgen Klopp unsurprisingly made a few changes to the team that faced Bournemouth in the EFL Cup midweek. Expect players such as Gravenberch, Mac Allister, Van Dijk, Alexander-Arnold and Darwin Nuñez to all return to the starting 11. Diogo Jota will also be pushing for a spot back in the starting lineup with Cody Gakpo the player potentially to give way. It’s still unsure whether or not Luis Diaz will suit up as he continues to deal with his personal family related situation, although the Colombian is back training with the team.
