Ludogorets and Qarabag will face off in the second leg of their Champions League third qualifying round tie on Tuesday evening at Huvepharma Arena. The winner of this match will face GNK Dinamo in the playoff round. Let’s get into the prediction. 

Ludogorets return from Azerbaijan holding a slender advantage having beaten this opponent 2-1 in the first leg last week. Dinis Almeida and Caio Vidal scored in the second half, though the latter will not be a part of the second leg as he was sent off just before the final whistle. 

The Eagles played much of the first leg on the back foot, with just 44% possession, but they made the most of the chances they carved out, finding the net with two of their four shots on target. 

That result marked Ludogorets’ first away win in Champions League qualifying, though they have won all three of their home games in Europe so far, beating Dinamo Batumi 3-1 and Dinamo Minsk 2-0 in rounds one and two. 

Meanwhile, Qarabag will be disappointed that they do not have a lead in the tie despite dictating the game for large spells in the first leg. Juninho gave them a glimmer of hope after cancelling out Almeida’s opener but the team could not find a go-ahead goal. 

The Horsemen had 20 attempts at goal last week, though only five were on target. That was their only home loss in any competition this season while they are still unbeaten on the road. 

Notably, in five matches across all competitions this term, Qarabag has always found the back of the net and only failed to score more than once on one occasion, which was in last week’s encounter.
