On the back of a crushing defeat, Lyon will be seeking to immediately bounce back when they visit Lorient in Ligue 1. Hosts Lorient start this game three places above the relegation playoff spot while Lyon are two places higher. Lorient’s shock 2-1 win over Rennes lifted them to 25 points, two ahead of Montpellier, the side in the relegation playoff spot. It has been a good few weeks for Lorient, and that win was a good bounce after a home loss to Nantes. They now have four wins in their last six matches, a run that has enabled them rise from the relegation zone. Their consistency in attack has also been remarkable, Lorient failing to score in just one of their last six games. As they go into this game, Lorient will be boosted by the fact they are unbeaten in three matches against Lyon. They were impressive in the reverse fixture, coming from behind to draw 3-3. Lorient have one win in those three matches against Lyon. Here, their home form will be a major concern though. They’ve managed just one win in seven home matches.

Lyon will go into this game on 28 points, in 11th place. Their march to the top half was halted with a shock 3-0 home loss to Lens.
