Vila Nova begin the weekend a point clear at the top of Brazil's Serie B. They travel to 18th placed Londrina and may need to win to end the weekend in top spot. That's because seond placed Criciuma play the day before them and will go top if beating Guarani at home. The current league leaders are in good form with no defeats in their last four matches. Three have ended in victory and they haven't lost since being beaten 1-0 at third placed Sport Recife. That's just one of five league games the Tiger have conceded in 16 league games this season. Away form has seen them earn 14 points from eight games. Two have been lost on the road but the last couple have seen them get four points. 

Londrina need points but for a very different reason. They are four points from safety and come into this game struggling for form. The home side have only won three league games this season and been beaten in 11. 26 goals have been conceded and that gives them the worst defence in Serie B. They have lost their last three league fixtures, conceding a couple of goals in each of those matches. Just one point has been earned by them in their nine league games. Home form has been a struggle with two wins from their seven league fixtures. The last four have all been lost (with nine goals conceded) and another defeat looks on its way here.
