Liverpool vs West Ham Prediction & Betting Tips - Premier League

Liverpool continued to stabilize with a win over Midtjylland in the Champions League and they will be hoping to extend that domestically when they host a stubborn West Ham on Saturday. The Reds are second in the league standings on 13 points, same to leaders Everton while West Ham United are 12th with eight points from six matches. Liverpool head to this game on the back of three straight wins, the most recent which came at a heavy cost. They beat Midtjylland 2-0 at home but Fabinho picked an injury in the first half of the game, adding to their defensive worries, with Virgil van Dijk already out for the long term. Another defender, Joel Matip, is also a major doubt. The midweek win was not entirely comfortable but Liverpool will be happy to go to their third straight home match on a run of three straight wins. They have been a bit shaky but the recovery from the 7-2 thrashing by Aston Villa is visible, even though it has come with just two clean sheets in five matches. This season, Liverpool have scored at least two goals in each of their league matches, and have also scored in each of their last 12 league matches, stretching back to last season. They have won their three home matches this season and each of their last four while they remain unbeaten in their last 62 league matches at home. The last time Liverpool lost at home in the league was in 2017 April, to Crystal Palace.

West ham United on the other hand, come from two straight draws, against top sides and will not mind frustrating Liverpool at Anfield as well. In their last match, they drew 1-1 with Manchester City, after earlier having come from behind to draw 3-3 with Tottenham right after a 3-0 win over Leicester City. West Ham have really improved after their two opening losses in the league, and will feel they can match the champions here. It has been a tough run of matches for David Moyes’ side but the Londoners have managed well and heading to Anfield unbeaten in four matches should give them the mental strength they need. In their last five league matches, West Ham have managed to score, and in three of the five they have netted at least three goals. With just two clean sheets this season in the league, they will know their work is cut out against this Liverpool side. Each of The Hammers’ three away matches in the league this season has produced over 2.5 goals and they have scored thrice in each of the last two. They have no win over Liverpool in the last eight meetings and last season they didn’t have a very good run away from home. However, in their recent form, they will feel they can end the bad run against the Reds.
