Liverpool vs Toulouse Prediction & Betting Tips - Europa League
by Sridhar | in Europa League Predictions
Liverpool will look to extend their winning start to the Europa League when they take on second-placed Toulouse on matchday three. This Group E game will be played at Anfield on Thursday with Liverpool having six points and Toulouse on four. Third place is currently held by Union Saint-Gilloise from Belgium with just one point with Austria's LASK propping up the group on no points. Liverpool now play Toulouse home and away and will be expecting to close in on qualification by the time they are played. The Reds started their Europa League campaign this season with two straight wins. They defeated LASK 3-1 with Darwin Nunez, Luis Diaz, and Mohamed Salah finding themselves on the score sheet after they conceded an early goal. Their second game was much better with a 2-0 win over Union Saint-Gilloise playing at Anfield. That win was confirmed by goals from Ryan Gravenberch and Diogo Jota. They met Toulouse only once previously, back in 2007, when they won 4-0 at home.
Toulouse started their Europa League campaign with a 1-1 draw against Union Saint-Gilloise away from home. Thijs Dallinga scored a first-half penalty for them, but they conceded a goal in the second-half to share the spoilers. It was followed by a tight 1-0 win at home over LASK to move into second place in the group ahead of this round. Thanks to that win, the visitors now have a chance to win consecutive matches in the same season of UEFA competitions. That hasn't happened since 1987-88, so the visiting fans might not be having too many dreams of achieving a shocking result at Anfield.

Liverpool - Toulouse: Form Analysis
Liverpool are coming on the back of a 2-0 win over Everton in the Merseyside derby at the weekend. That wasn't a comprehensive or a dominating result in any sense, but the Reds did what they had to. They are in the middle of an impressive run of form of late, with nine wins across their last 11 matches in all competitions. This sequence has seen them lose just once, a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League and that was a rather controversial loss. They are fourth in the English Premier League and hoping that next season they will be back in the Champions League. Their record at Anfield is equally impressive as Liverpool have won their six home matches in all competitions in this season. The goals have been flowing for them with the loss at Tottenham being the only time in their last 11 games that they have failed to score at least twice.
Toulouse had a 1-1 draw at the weekend in Ligue 1 that made it five draws across their last eight matches. This sequence has seen them lose just once and win twice, so the visitors are going to put in a stubborn effort. Le Tef are tenth in Ligue 1 and qualified for the Europa League by winning the French Cup last season. The Violets drew 1-1 at USG in their opening group game but did lead in that match. That was followed by a 1-0 home win over LASK thanks to a 31st minute goal by Gabriel Suazo. Toulouse have won only two of their last seven matches in the Europa League, losing three. The record is grim on the road, where Toulouse have drawn one and lost two of their last three away Europa League matches. Four of their last six games have seen both teams get on the scoresheet.
