Tottenham ended the weekend still top of the Premier League. They are only ahead of second placed Liverpool on goal difference and they take them on at Anfield on Wednesday. It's highly likely that Tottenham won't be top of the table come the start of this game. Chelsea, Leicester and Southampton could all overtake them but avoiding defeat at Anfield is the main purpose that Tottenham have. Spurs gave away a lead at Crystal Palace on Sunday and that was the third score draw in the last five games played. Tottenham are on a good unbeaten run though, with 11 without defeat in the Premier League since losing their season opener at home to Everton. Away form has been impressive this season with four wins in a row before draws at both Chelsea and Crystal Palace. Tottenham have scored in seven of their last eight away league games and both teams have scored in all but four of their last 13 away league matches.

Liverpool could have gone to the top of the table on Sunday. Tottenham had drawn at Palace, but the Reds were unable to beat Fulham. They had to come from behind to get a 1-1 draw and that's the third time that has been the final score in their last four matches. Home form is of course full of statistics that would put fear into any visitor. Liverpool have won all six of their home league games this season and averaging three goals in each match. Of their last 32 home league games, every single one has been won apart from the 1-1 draw against Burnley last season. Liverpool had conceded in six straight home Premier League games before two clean sheets against Leicester and Wolves. They continue to have injury problems though and with Kane and Son in top form, a bet on both teams to score looks the one to go for here.
