Liverpool's dream of a quadruple could come to an end on Thursday evening. The Reds host Tottenham in the second leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final and trail the Londoners 1-0 from the first leg. Can the Lilywhites reach Wembley? Here's our match prediction.
The home side are the current Carabao Cup holders and won't want to see themselves knocked out at Anfield. The 1-0 loss at Tottenham in January's first leg is one of only three matches they have lost this season. They had previously won 6-3 at Tottenham a month before the first leg. However, they couldn't repeat that in January with a late Lucas Bergvall goal giving Spurs a narrow lead.
The Londoners have been having a tough time in the Premier League and are only 14th, 29 points behind Liverpool. Their form in cup competitions has been better though and are in the last 16 of the Europa League. Now they have a chance to reach the final of the Carabao Cup for the first time since 2021 and it's 17 years since they last lifted the trophy.

Liverpool - Tottenham: Form Analysis
Liverpool still have a chance of winning four trophies this season. They are in danger of being knocked out of the Carabao Cup though, traling 1-0 from the first leg. The weekend saw them win 2-0 at Bournemouth and are six points clear at the top of the Premier League.
The first leg loss ended a run of nine Carabao Cup games without defeat. It's been a difficult route to this semi-final with wins over three Premier League sides: West Ham, Brighton and Southampton. Over 90 minutes they haven't lost a Carabao Cup home game since 2018.
Tottenham are more dangerous in cup competitions.
Tottenham had a much needed Premier League win at Brentford at the weekend. That was their first league win since December when winning away at Southampton. Their cup form is much better than their league results.
Spurs have beaten Coventry City and both Manchester clubs to reach this semi-final. Not since 2011 have Tottenham won at Anfield and have lost four of their last five visits to Liverpool.

The thigh injury that Trent Alexander-Arnold sustained at Bournemouth on Saturday is likely to keep him out of this match. Liverpool have few other injuries with Joe Gomez the only other player definitely ruled out of this Carabao Cup tie.
There's plenty of competition for places and unlike in the early rounds of this competition, a very strong line-up will be played by Liverpool, especially with a place at Wembley on the line.
