Liverpool vs Southampton Prediction & Betting Tips - Premier League

Liverpool start the weekend in third place and three wins in their final matches against Southampton, West Ham (away) and Middlesbrough at home will see them back in the Champions League. Monday saw them win 1-0 at Watford thanks to that wonder goal from Can, more of that will be appreciated in the dying weeks of the season. This game takes place on Sunday and if Manchester City can beat Crystal Palace the day before, they can move ahead of Liverpool on goal difference. The big plus for Liverpool this weekend is that Arsenal face Manchester United so at least one of their rivals is going to drop points over the weekend. Liverpool are having a good end to the season with only one defeat in their last nine league games. That was in their last home game to Crystal Palace and they can't afford a repeat of that in this game against Southampton. They only have that one loss in their last seven home games but haven't won either of their last two. Southampton are ninth in the table and could get past West Brom for an eighth place finish. There seems to be a bit of unrest at the club though (nothing new there) with talk of their manager leaving in the summer. They have gone three games without a win and lost five of their last eight. Southampton did have success against Liverpool in the EFL Cup but current form indicates a home win in this game.
