Liverpool vs Shrewsbury Town Prediction & Betting Tips - FA Cup
by Daniel Ngulu | in FA Cup Predictions
After the postponement of their League Cup tie against Arsenal, it is all systems go at Liverpool as they prepare to host League One side Shrewsbury Town in the third round of the FA Cup. Unlike the league and League Cup games, the FA has given a directive to see that all FA Cup matches are played, regardless of the number of first team players available. Liverpool have been shaky in recent matches but we don’t expect this game to trouble them. They have no clean sheet in their last five matches and failed to score in one of them. In the last four matches, Liverpool have conceded two or more in three. Four of their last five matches have also ended in over 2.5 goals but they have done much better at home. In the last 10 home games, they’ve scored two or more goals in nine and they have five clean sheets in that run.
On the other hand, Shrewsbury have struggled in League One but they’ve been picking up well ahead of this game. They are coming from a 1-0 home win over Sheffield Wednesday, which marked a third straight clean sheet for the visitors. They’ve also avoided defeat in the last four matches, and have three wins in the process. Shrewsbury have suffered just three losses in their last 10 matches and if they can avoid defeat here, it will go down as one of the shock results in this round. They will be happy not to be facing Liverpool’s lead scorers, Sadio Mane and Mo Salah, who are away on international duty. Still, Liverpool will have better quality, and Shrewsbury’s away run is one area that will be a concern. They’ve lost six times in the last 10 away matches and have just one clean sheet in the 10 games.

Our Liverpool vs Shrewsbury Town Prediction
Liverpool’s key men are coming back from isolation and the Reds should be able to parade a strong side for this game. At home, they’ve been tough to beat this season and they get to this game with a very good scoring run. On the other hand, Shrewsbury are struggling away from home, and this is likely to continue here. Back Liverpool to lead in both halves.
