Liverpool vs Sheffield United Prediction & Betting Tips - Premier League
by Steve Ashfield | in Premier League Predictions
Barring an amazing collapse, 2020 is going to be the year when Liverpool finally win the Premier League. They begin the year with a home game against eighth placed Sheffield United, who are just the 26 points behind their opponents. Liverpool began matchweek 21 thirteen points clear of Leicester in second and with a game in hand, surely they can't mess this title challenge up. The Reds are stacking up some incredible statistics that just keep getting better and better. Their last home league defeat was in 2017 and they have now gone 50 games unbeaten with 24 of the last 25 being won. It's 36 league matches without defeat and not being beaten with their last loss on the third day of 2019. All rather frightening for any team that has to play them. They have become a side that doesn't have to play well to get victories and have goalscorers all over the pitch.
Sheffield United are in eighth place at the start of this set of fixtures. They lost their unbeaten away league record in their last game when losing 2-0 at Manchester City. The reverse fixture against Liverpool was an unlucky 1-0 defeat but this looks a lot harder for them. United are only two points adrift of the Europa League place and jus six behind Chelsea in fourth. They have only one point from their last two games though and a few more bad results could see them slide down the table. They have only lost one away league game but won just three. All have been against sides who at the time were in the bottom half of the table. Go for a Liverpool win here with them leading at both half and full time.
