Liverpool vs Roma Prediction & Betting Tips - Champions League
by Steve Ashfield | in Champions League Predictions
Liverpool knocked out Premier League champions Manchester City in the quarter finals and face the conquerors of Barcelons as Roma travel to Anfield for the first leg of this Champions League semi-final. The English side would have probably preferred to play the first leg away and will be looking for a good lead to take to Italy. Of course Barcelona did that in the last round but even a 4-1 home win wasn't enough to get them into the last four. Liverpool have only lost one game at Anfield this season and that was when fielding a weakened side against West Brom in the FA Cup. They have been scoring plenty of goals in the Champions League this season with 19 in six home games and they have scored twice in al but one of those matches. With Salah, Mane and Firmino all fit then they could be in for more goals in this first leg.
Roma have only won one of their last 15 away games in the Champions League and their last three this season have all ended in defeat with eight goals conceded. It looks very much that if they do want to reach the final then they will have to come from behind again and scoring an away goal will be a key target for the Italians. They have played in England aleady this season drawing 3-3 away to Chelsea but keeping clean sheets isn't one of their strongest points in this competition and their last 27 away Champions League games have seen them concede. Liverpool will be going forward all night in this game and can get an important lead to take to the second leg.

Our Liverpool vs Roma Prediction
Liverpool have been in great form at Anfield this season and are yet to lose in the Champions League with 19 goals scored. Their high-scoring players are all fit and they will be raring to go and get a lead to take to Italy for the second leg but be way of what happened to Barcelona in the quarter finals. Roma aren't at all impressive on their travels and they will be keen to avoid a heavy defeat and get an away goal on the scoreboard. Go for Liverpool to win the first leg.
