Liverpool vs Norwich Prediction & Betting Tips - FA Cup
by Ian John in FA Cup Predictions
Liverpool face familiar rivals Norwich City in the FA Cup Fourth Round on Sunday with the Reds having won 16 of the last 18 games between the two teams, drawing the other two. However, before Liverpool fans celebrate a place in the Fifth Round too soon, the Reds have only won two of their last eight against Championship opponents in the FA Cup at Anfield, losing four and drawing two. That may well give Norwich City, whose form has improved late, some real hope of securing what would be a huge upset victory over the 2022 FA Cup winners.

Liverpool - Norwich: Form Analysis
Liverpool come into this game on the back of a fantastic run of form which has seen them lose just one of 27 domestic games this season. Ahead of their 1-1 draw with Fulham in midweek, a result which saw them confirm a Carabao Cup Final date with Chelsea at Wembley in February, the Reds had won their previous five games in succession. That's impressive considering that they have had a lengthy injury list and have faced the likes of Arsenal (twice), Newcastle and West Ham since the 20th December. They reached the FA Cup Fourth Round thanks to a superb 2-0 win at Arsenal, where they withstood an early Gunners onslaught to secure the win with two late goals, an own goal from Jakob Kiwior followed by a late Luis Diaz strike.
A few months ago, Canaries boss David Wagner looked in serious danger of the sack at Norwich, but the board's patience with the former Huddersfield Town and Schalke 04 manager has paid off. The Canaries have moved up the Championship onto the fringes of the playoff race and now lie 8th following their narrow 1-0 defeat away to Leeds United on Wednesday night. Defensively, the team has improved considerably in the last couple of months and with the likes of Ben Gibson returning to full fitness, they are starting to have some of their key personnel back in that back line. They'll need to be at their best against a Liverpool side in outstanding form at the moment and against whom they have a miserable record over the last 18 games or so.
The game has been given added significance since the announcement late last week that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, and his backroom team, will step down from their roles at the club at the end of the season. It is, therefore, expected to be a somewhat emotional day at Anfield for the visit of the Canaries.

Liverpool & Norwich Squad Analysis
Liverpool will have several players missing for the game with Norwich. Mo Salah is injured, Wataru Endo is away at the Asian Cup, while Thiago, Stefan Bajcetic, Joel Matip and Kostas Tsimikas will be out. Trent Alexander-Arnold could be in contention for a place on the bench, but is unlikely to start. Left back Andy Robertson made the bench for the game with Fulham bit didn't get on, but the Scottish national team captain could play apart in this game.
Norwich City have welcomed back a number of players from injury in recent weeks including Josh Sargent, Ben Gibson and Onel Hernandez and this has had a really positive impact on the team. David Wagner, a close friend of Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp, will likely stick to his trusted 4-4-2 formation, with Brazilian Gabriel Sara catching the eye with his form in recent games from midfield. Wagner should be able to pick from a full-strength squad for the game at Anfield.
