Liverpool - Manchester United: Form Analysis
A case could be made that the fans will be viewing this match as the most important of the season given how the campaign has played out so far. A win over their bitter rivals will not make up for the Reds disappointments but it would go a long way to salvaging morale to an extent and could act as a catalyst for the final stretch of the season. Liverpool are coming off a 2-0 home win over Wolves in their last match, their third win in the last four Premier League fixtures.
For all their struggles, Liverpool have still been rather effective at home in the Premier League this season. They’ve lost just once at Anfield in domestic play this season, winning eight and drawing the remaining three. Liverpool have also seen a dramatic difference in their goal production and defensive solidity when playing at home, scoring more than double their away tally while conceding less than half as many goals as well.
Manchester United come into this fixture on their longest unbeaten streak of the 2022/23 season at 11 matches. The Red Devils’ last outing ended in a dramatic, come-from-behind 3-1 win over West Ham in the FA Cup fifth-round thanks to three goals in the final 13 minutes of play. The result makes it five straight wins for United and it’s the attack that has been firing on all cylinders which has propelled them forward in recent weeks. Manchester United has scored two or more goals in their last 12 consecutive matches.

Liverpool & Manchester United Squad Analysis
Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag doesn’t have any new injury concerns to worry about following his side's FA Cup win over West Ham. The Red Devils will be without Martial, Eriksen and Van de Beek but should be able to welcome back Luke Shaw and Jadon Sancho for this one. Whether or not the Dutchman deems them fit enough to make the starting 11 after each missing the previous match remains to be seen, however.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp will only have a few injuries to deal with as the squad is relatively fit. The Reds will be without Naby Kieta, Thiago and Calvin Ramsey. They are also sweating the fitness of Joe Gomez who picked up a muscular knock against Real Madrid. Winger Luis Diaz is closing in on a return as the Colombian continues to rehab from his long-term injury but is still a few weeks out.
