There's a massive amount at stake in this Premier League game. Leaders Manchester City travel to fourth placed Liverpool and a win will see them go ten points clear of their opponents. It's an unthinkable situation after Liverpool formerly topped the table and of course had that amazing home league record. That's all changed now, Liverpool aren't winning at Anfield and Manchester City are on a long unbeaten run with one win after another. After a 69 game unbeaten home league run, Liverpool have now gone four at Anfield without a win, no goals in the last three and successive defeats to mighty Burnley and Brighton. Now they trail City by seven points and even worse they've played a game more than them. They just cannot afford to lose this match or that title will be all but lost. 

Over the last ten league games, Manchester City have earned 26 points, that's 13 more than Liverpool over the same period. That's why everything has changed in the Premier League and why City are hot favourites to regain their title. There has been plenty of talk about the injury problems that Liverpool have had this season. However, City have their own share and are without both Aguero and De Bruyne. You wouldn't notice though as City have won their last 13 league and cup games and have no losses in the last 20. This isn't a City team that gets big wins every week, with goals aplenty. They win but not always by a wide margin and do so because of an excellent defensive record. 16 clean sheets in 20 games and one goal conceded in their last nine league games. The first goal is going to be important in this game. If City can get it, then there might not be a way back for Liverpool considering how their opponents are defending. City have won their last four away league matches and can be backed to get a win here.
