Liverpool vs Manchester City Prediction & Betting Tips - Community Shield

It's the traditional pre-season Community Shield but with a slight difference this year. Traditionally the game is played between the Premier League champions and the FA Cup holders. After last year's domestic domination, Manchester City hold both those trophies (as well as the Carabao Cup). So, this season it's a match between the champions and the runners-up. Liverpool come into this game having had a troubled pre-season. Several of their key players (Salah, Firmino and Allison) have only just resumed training after their international commitments during the summer. Sadio Mane doesn't return to training until after this game so he won't be playing in this game. Liverpool haven't had the best of results without their key players but their return did produce a win over Lyon on Wednesday. It'll be interesting to see what team Klopp puts out for this game. A win on Sunday would be their 16th win in this match, taking them into clear second behind Manchester United. 

Manchester City will be hoping for another dominant season and a better Champions League performance. They have also had players taking part in international tournaments, including Aguero, Jesus, Otamendi and Edison. Their pre-season form has been better than that of their opponents and they have new signing Rodrigo in their squad. City had a good win in last year's Community Shield, their first win since 2012. City look better prepared for this match and can be backed to win in 90 minutes.
