Liverpool vs Manchester City Prediction & Betting Tips - Champions League
by Steve Ashfield | in Champions League Predictions
The weekend could see Manchester City clinch the Premier League title but before that they have the small matter of a Champions League quarter final first leg away to rivals Liverpool. City had a win in the city at the weekend beating Everton 3-1 but earlier in the season they lost 4-3 at Anfield, their only Premier League defeat of the season. The Premier League title is all but won and they have already landed the League Cup but it's the Champions League that the club owners dream of winning after their vast expenditure. This is the third meeting between the two sides this season and Liverpool will be wary of the first time they met when City won 5-0 at home. Pep's team have only lost two of their last 14 games, one to Wigan with a weakened side and the same also applied to the 2-1 home loss to Basel in the last sixteen of this competition when again playing a weakened team.
European nights at Anfield are always special and this should be no exception. The weekend saw them win 2-1 at Crystal Palace and with Chelsea losing on Sunday, they look certain to be in the Champions League next season. They have only lost one of their last ten league and cup games and at Anfield have just an FA Cup loss to West Brom in their last 25 games in all competitions. A lot depends on Mo Salah of course who just keeps on scoring.
The two games between these two sides this season have seen 12 goals scored and 11 of the last 14 matches between these two sides have had over 2.5 goals scored in them. This should be a cracker of a cup tie and with the players on show, go for over 2.5 goals to be scored in this match.

Our Liverpool vs Manchester City Prediction
This should be the tie of the round as Liverpool face Manchester City. Both sides are in good form and scoring plenty of goals and the rest of the teams in the Champions League must have loved it when they were drawn together in the last eight. Liverpool will be looking for more goals from Mo Salah to get them some kind of lead to take into the second leg. Two games between these two sides this season have produced 12 goals and there should be more to come in this tie. Go for over 2.5 goals to be scored in this match.
