Liverpool had a convincing 5-0 home win over Swansea City on Boxing Day and 24 hours later confirmed they will be signing Virgil van Dijk when the January transfer window opens. That might come too late for a title challenge this season, but an improved defence will certainly help their chances of a top four finish this season. They come into this game in fourth place but only a poiint clear of fifth place. They are yet to lose at Anfield this season and the win over Swansea City ended a run of three straight home draws. It's 14 games unbeaten for Liverpool and they have three clean sheets in their last four matches. Leicester City are 8th in the table but 11 points behind their opponents, so it's more a chase for the Europa League rather than a return to the Champions League. They got a last-gasp goal at the weekend to get a draw with Manchester United but followed that up with a 2-1 loss at Watford on Boxing Day. They have a few defensive worries too and have conceded in ten of their last 11 games in all competitions. On the road they have gone six games without a clean sheet and with 30 goals conceded in the Premier League this season, you worry for them when coming up against the power of Liverpool. In the reverse fixure, Leicester lost 3-2 at home to Liverpool and this looks like being another home win for the Reds.
