Liverpool vs Everton Prediction & Betting Tips - FA Cup
by Steve Ashfield | in FA Cup Predictions
Liverpool are already World and European Champions and well on their way to winning the Premier League, can they also add the FA Cup? They face a difficult tie in the third round as they host local rivals Everton. Liverpool are 13 points clear at the top of the Premier League and unbeaten in that competition for a calendar year. Their FA Cup record isn't so good though with early exits and the last time they played an FA Cup tie in April was in 2015. Leaving out key players is the cause and that will of course happen again this weekend. Liverpool have a much stronger squad now, so leaving out a Mane and/or Salah will still leave them as a team that will be hard to beat.
Everton have shown improvement since their last game at Anfield. That was in early December when they were beaten 5-2 and the following day Marco Silva was sacked. Since then, Everton went on an unbeaten run of five league games before losing at Manchester City. Their relegation fears have been eased and they are now 11th and five points above the bottom three. Just their luck that they went and drew Liverpool away in the FA Cup third round. They also had that problem in 2018 when losing 2-1 at Anfield, yet another loss to their neighbours who they haven't beaten away from home this century. Four of their last five FA Cup ties have been lost and last season saw them lose to Championship side Millwall. Liverpool will field a weakened side but Everton are likely to do the same. Go for a home win here.

Our Liverpool vs Everton Prediction
It's another Merseyside derby in the FA Cup. Liverpool beat Everton at home in the third round two years ago and look to repeat that win this weekend. A weakened line-up will be fielded but their strong squad will still see them fielding a strong line-up. Anfield continues to be a fortress and they take on an Everton side that still haven't won there in the 21st century. They have improved in recent weeks but their squad isn't as strong as that of their neighbours. Go for a home win.
