Liverpool vs Everton Prediction & Betting Tips - Premier League
by Steve Ashfield | in Premier League Predictions
The Premier League returns this Saturday with the first Merseyside derby of the season. Fourth placed Liverpool host Everton who are in 16th place. A win for the Reds will see them go top of the table for at least a few hours. Liverpool will be looking to continue their impressive form at Anfield this season while Everton aim to find some more consistency and move away from the bottom three. Getting bragging rights is the main concern for the supporters of both clubs.

Liverpool - Everton: Form Analysis
Liverpool begin the weekend three points behind league leaders Tottenham who are the only side to beat them this season. Beating Everton will see them go top of the table on goal difference. They have been in excellent form at Anfield this season with all three Premier League games won and two cup wins as well. Liverpool have scored three goals in each of their home league wins over Bournemouth, Aston Villa and West Ham United. They are now unbeaten in 15 home league matches with 12 of them being won. Four of their last five home league matches against Everton have ended in victory for the red half of the city.
While Liverpool are three points adrift of the league leaders, it's again a different story for their opponents. The Toffees are the same number of points above the relegation zone. At least they're no longer in the bottom three after another poor start to the season was made. There had been some signs of recovery though in the lead-up to the international break. The Blues had won two league and cup games in a row but then went and lost 2-1 at home to newly-promoted Luton Town who hadn't won before their victory at Goodison Park. Their most recent league game saw them beat Bournemouth 3-0 at home. Consistency is what Sean Dyche needs to instil into his team. Away form is a worry though with only two of their last 18 away league fixtures being won.

Liverpool & Everton Squad Analysis
Andy Robertson is a doubt for Liverpool after being injured during Scotland's game against Spain. Kostas Tsimikas is likely to fill in for the Scottish international if he is ruled out. There are also slight worries over Ben Doak and Cody Gapko. Brighter news is that Diogo Jota who has been in good scoring form this season returns from his one-match suspension. He could well be in contention to start the game. Both Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez face lengthy journeys back from playing in the South American World Cup qualifiers.
Everton still have Dele Alli and Seamus Coleman out injured with doubts over Andre Gomes. James Garner played well against Bournemouth and could keep his place. Back in contention is Idrissa Gueye who played for Senegal in the past week after suffering a heel injury before the game against Bournemouth.
