The Premier League title has nearly been won but Liverpool could lose their European crown this week. They host Atletico Madrid in the second leg of their last 16 Champions League tie trailing 1-0. Liverpool haven't been at their very best of late but returned to form with a 2-1 home win over Bournemouth on Saturday. They had been unbeaten in their last five Champions League games before losing in Madrid. Now they have to hope for yet another special Anfield night to get them through to the quarter finals. It's not such a massive task as when beating Barcelona, though they would have loved to have scored an away goal. Liverpool are unbeaten in their last 17 home games in this competition and will be confident the Anfield roar will help them qualify.

Atletico Madrid drew again at the weekend and remain fifth in La Liga a point behind the final Champions League place. That was their second league draw in a row including one away to relegation threatened Espanyol. They'd be satisfied with a draw in this game, that is for sure. Atletico took an early lead in the first leg of this game but will wish they had scored again. Their away form is disappointing with no wins in their last six matches. In the Champions League, they have been beaten in their last two, with only two wins in the last 12. Conceding early would be a nightmare for Atletico but regardless of when Liverpool make the breakthrough, this looks set for a home win.
