Now mathematically confirmed to be champions of this Premier League season, Liverpool play host to Aston Villa at Anfield on Sunday. It will be Liverpool's first home match since becoming champions but they won't have any fans to celebrate in front of because of the pandemic. A casual fan looking at the head-to-head record between these teams may be startled to see that Villa won the last encounter - a League Cup semi-final - 5-0. However, the team that they faced was one of the youngest that Liverpool ever fielded because the senior squad was away competing for the World Club Cup, which they won. Liverpool will be motivated to batter Villa for that humiliation and we can see the beating starting early.
