Liverpool vs Arsenal Prediction & Betting Tips - Premier League
by Joseph King | in Premier League Predictions
Eighth-place Liverpool host league leaders Arsenal at Anfield for this marquee matchday 30 fixture in the English Premier League. The Gunners have built up an eight point lead over second-place Manchester City although could see that lead cut to just five with the Citizens having a game in hand. Arsenal will have to prove their championship pedigree when they face off against a reeling Liverpool side at a ground that they haven’t won at (in 90 minutes) in over 10 years. Liverpool have been resilient at Anfield this season and will be looking to disrupt Arsenal’s title charge. The Reds are trailing fourth-place Manchester United by 10 points but with 10 matches still to play, fans will likely still be harboring some hopes of qualifying for the Champions League next season.

Liverpool - Arsenal: Form Analysis
Arsenal’s tremendous Premier League form continues with Mikel Arteta’s side ripping off seven straight victories ahead of their trip to Merseyside. The league leaders are coming off back-to-back 4-1 home wins over Crystal Palace and Leeds, respectively. Arsenal are running like a well-oiled machine at this point with the attack in particular firing on all cylinders. On this current seven match domestic winning run, the 13-time league champions have found the back of the net an impressive 23 times while conceding a total of only six goals. Arsenal have been unphased playing away from home with 11 wins and a league best nine clean sheets in 14 away matches so far this season.
It’s been a Jekyll and Hyde type of season for the 2019/20 league champions Liverpool as they’ve looked like a completely different side playing home vs away this season. Liverpool have been formidable in front of the home fans, racking up nine wins and only one loss in 13 outings. Contrast this to their away form which has seen the Reds win in only three of 15 away trips. The difference in their numbers is quite staggering as Liverpool have the single biggest spread in terms of home and away goal differential. At Anfield, Liverpool have found the net 34 times while conceding only nine goals compared to away from home where they have scored 14 and conceded 24. Their last match resulted in a 0-0 home draw with Chelsea which was preceded by three consecutive defeats. Liverpool have now failed to score in three of their last four matches across all competitions.

Liverpool & Arsenal Squad Analysis
Arsenal will more than likely be without William Saliba as the Frenchman deals with a back injury. The 22-year-old has been a revelation in defense this season for Mikel Arteta and will be a big miss to the team. Rob Holding, who has been excellent this season when called upon, will come in to replace the Frenchman. Arsenal will also be unable to call upon the services of right back Takehiro Tomiyasu, Eddie Nketiah and Mohamad Elneny.
For the hosts, manager Jurgen Klopp will be without Naby Kieta, Calvin Ramsay and Stefan Bajcetic. Colombian winger Luiz Diaz is back in training but isn’t expected to take part in this one as he continues to get back to 100% following a lengthy spell on the sidelines. Salah, Gakpo, Robertson and Van Dijk are all expected to return to the starting 11 here, after not starting in the draw against Chelsea.

Our Liverpool vs Arsenal Prediction
These two teams played out a five goal thriller in the reverse fixture at the Emirates back in October and we’re expecting a similarly entertaining match here. Liverpool have been abysmal on the road this season but their form at Anfield is amongst the very best in the Premier League. Meanwhile, Arsenal have proven themselves week after week and possess the league’s best away record by a significant margin, winning 11 of their 14 away trips. This should be a fascinating matchup with goals surely on the cards. Back the over 2.5 here and think about combining it with both teams to score for an extra boost in the odds.
