Liverpool are having to deal with a number of injuries to senior players but will be hoping this doesn’t come to their detriment when they host Arsenal as the Premier League returns after the international break. Liverpool are fourth in the league standings with 22 points, two points ahead of fifth placed Arsenal. The Reds suffered their first loss of the season in their last game ahead of the international break and after a shaky run they’ll hope for better times. They remain prolific in attack and are indeed the lead scorers in the league with 31 goals. In the last 14 matches, they’ve scored two or more in each and eight of their last 10 matches have ended in over 2.5 goals. Liverpool’s recent run defensively hasn’t been the best though as they’ve conceded two or more goals in three of the last five matches in the league. At home in the league, they have three draws in the last four matches, and both teams have scored in three of the four.

While Liverpool are dealing with a growing injury list, Arsenal have skipper Pierre Emerick Aubameyang, Thomas Partey and Granit Xhaka to worry about. The Gunners should be able to deal with Aubameyang’s absence, as Xhaka is ruled out but they’ll be sweating over Partey. They have four straight wins and are enjoying a good run after a poor start. Going into this game, Arsenal are unbeaten in 10 matches, winning eight. They have three straight clean sheets and have scored two or more goals in four of their last five matches. Two of their last five matches have produced over 2.5 goals. Their last away loss was the 5-0 defeat by Manchester City. After that they’ve won three and drawn one, and in the league, they have three straight clean sheets away from home.
