Lithuania vs Italy Prediction & Betting Tips - World Cup
by Daniel Ngulu | in World Cup Predictions
The rebranding at Italy is going on well after missing the last World Cup and in Group C, they’ve taken an early lead with two wins in two. They are currently top of the group with six points and will be traveling away to Lithuania for their third game. Lithuania are yet to register a point in this group but this will be their second game, their campaign having started with a 1-0 loss to Switzerland on Sunday. They’ve failed to score in three of their last four matches and have managed just two clean sheets in the last 10. Five of their last eight matches have yielded over 2.5 goals and after three unbeaten home matches against much weaker opposition they’ll be hoping to do it against the nation ranked 10th in the world. Their last eight World Cup qualification matches have ended winless, with Lithuania losing seven. The only win for Lithuania in their last 12 World Cup qualification matches was against Malta, and they’ve failed to score in six of eight qualification matches. At home, in the same qualifiers, Lithuania have three straight losses.
Italy haven’t lost a lot lately; they head here with five straight wins and clean sheets, while in their last six meetings with Lithuania, the Italians have registered four wins. They are coming from a 2-0 win away in Bulgaria, which was the fifth straight time they scored two or more goals. In total, Italy have scored 12 goals in their last five matches and are unbeaten in 24 games, with 19 wins therein. Away from home, they are unbeaten in 10, with nine wins and eight clean sheets in the process. Italy have scored two or more goals in seven of their last 10 away matches and in World Cup qualification matches, they have three wins in five, with four clean sheets. In their away matches in qualification, Italy have three wins and two losses in the last five.

Our Lithuania vs Italy Prediction
Italy have had a good start to the qualifiers and are getting a good buffer before later facing Switzerland, their strongest challengers in the group. With a run of five straight wins and clean sheets, Italy should be able to brush off this Lithuania side. The hosts have not scored in most of their recent matches whereas Italy have been hitting at least two goals in their recent matches. Five of Lithuania’s last eight matches have produced over 2.5 goals and going by Italy’s returns in attack, over 2.5 goals looks like a good pick here.
